For most children, the first day of school is filled with excitement and anticipation of new friends and adventures arriving in the classroom with new school clothes and new school supplies. 

However, for a growing number of children, the first day of school is filled with anxiety or disappointment - some are not allowed to attend school until they meet a dress code.  Others are fearful of mocking or disapproval by other students because their clothes are tattered or they don't have the right school supplies. Operation School Bell helps children feel better about themselves, so that they in turn, will perform better in school.
